After more than half a century of development, China’s mold industry has had a big promotion and is very agile. In 2018, the sales expenditure of enterprises above the national mold industry was 213.616 billion yuan, a decrease of 19.8% compared with the previous year. However, compared with 2010, there is still a large promotion.

In the past two years, the market has suddenly changed dramatically, the global economy is sluggish, and the export molds are falling. The mold industry is facing a big battle. But mold is one of the most important cornerstones of the industry, playing a very important role in the manufacturing process. Even in a highly industrialized and prosperous country, it is inseparable from mold development. Although it is at a low point in the future, but China’s mold production has not been the same, the industry has a large promotion, with the help of Internet information technology, the mold industry still has a good prospects for development.

The development of the mold industry has effectively promoted the rapid development of the plastic mold industry. Since the new century, plastic products have been invented as a big hit, and have been widely used by people and factories. Therefore, the injection mold processing industry came into being with the plastics industry. Plastic molds are a major branch of the current mold industry, accounting for 30% of all mold industry arrangements. Because injection mold processing has a major intermediate position in the finished plastics, it has also become the “mother of industry.” According to Luo Baihui, the executive secretary of the International Association of Molds and Hardware Plastics Suppliers, in the future mold market, the speed of plastic molds will be higher than other molds, and the proportion in the mold industry will continue to increase.

Mold manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions

At present, the characteristics of China’s plastic mold industry are more obvious, that is, the northwest coastal areas are faster than the central and western regions, and the south is faster than the south. The most concentrated areas for plastic molds in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta region account for more than two-thirds of the national plastic mold output value. Among them, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Guangdong plastic molds are in the forefront of the country, and their output value reaches 70% of the total mold output value of the country, which has a strong regional advantage.

Application range

Plastic moulds are used throughout the automotive, power, machinery, electronics, information, aerospace and general life products. According to statistics, 75% of rough processing industrial product parts, 50% of finished parts are molded by mould, 80% of parts in household appliances industry, and more than 70% of parts in motor industry are also processed by mould. In the future, with the rapid development of China’s machinery, automobiles, home appliances, electronic information and building materials, China’s plastic mould industry will continue to increase.
